Let Down by the Outside Noise

Location: - SUPERB - It's a 10 /15 mins walk to the river which we frequented most evenings. We found the Supermarket next door very handy, it is always busy. Lots of Restaurants / shops just around the corner. Breakfast: - Dining Room opens at 7.00am - the Dining Room is very large, but needs to be to cater for the Coach loads of people coming and going, Great selection of fruit / cereal / yoghurts. Cooked breakfast seemed adequate, but that's not our thing. Lots of staff on hand and tables were quickly cleared away. Rooms:- We stayed in a Superior Room on 7th Floor with a great view. Our room was a good size, with plenty of storage / wardrobe space / safe / tea / coffee facilities. Great TV with Movie Channel. We found the pillows far too soft and the bed 'brick hard' it was like sleeping on a board. Toiletries provided were shampoo and body wash. Rooms cleaned daily if you wish. DOWNSIDE TO THIS HOTEL: - is the constant noise of traffic and trams that trundle past the hotel, we were kept awake every night and that was with us on the 7th floor. Sometimes the windows shook - the windows are not double glazed. There is also a square across from the hotel that is habited by lots of homeless men who sing and shout into the early hours of the morning - we found it quite seedy at night. All in all, this hotel has a lot going for it, but for us, a good nights' sleep is top of our list and we just didn't get that here. Please note there are rooms that face the Courtyard, but not too sure about the noise issue there.

Great hotel, location perfect, staff very nice and friendly, breakfast good. We had a room on the fourth floor, room was nice, only a slight problem - the toilet was in a strange position, when you sat on the toilet you had to move you knees around the sink. Very handy for the metro from the airport. Will stay again.

Everything is just average, service not great, rooms just ok, food just ok. Also avoid the rooftop bar unless you like to sit for an hour without a drink, maybe the worst bar service I’ve experienced. Wouldn’t go recommend. A lot of the furniture could do with being replaced, very tired looking.

Location was perfect, clean, comfy pillows, very good breakfast. The rooftop terrace is a must, the lounge was terrific. The staff were awesome, so helpful and pleasant. Catch the famous Tram 28 just outside the door. Would stay again for sure.

There were some positives to our stay here., one being that it was a short stay, only 3 nights, not a week or more!! It was well situated for local attractions and watering holes. Having a mobility impairment, our rep, bless her heart, asked for us to be put in a room near the lift. The rattling and clanking of the lift made sleeping a very hit or miss affair. After two nights putting up with this, not helped by the people in the room next door who had their TV on loud at 11.15. Reception asked them to turn it down, which they did, but it was on louder at 12.15, so loud that I could have almost narrated the events of the movie. They even complained about having to turn it down or off, but this particular issue was not the fault of the hotel. We asked to be moved and the hotel was happy to arrange this. We were at the other end of the hotel, but we could hear people on the terrace below, the rooftop bar and the underground trains as backing accompaniment. The staff were great, really attentive but you would have to pay me to stay there again.
